Treatment and care

By keeping an eye on and communicating treatment-related safety and supply issues, organizing international multi-stakeholder meetings to address issues with access to safe and effective therapy, and supplying our community with current and accurate treatment-related information, the Ghana Hemophilia Society helps to set standards of care locally.

The bleeding disorders community’s top priority is the availability and safety of treatment solutions. GHS  monitors closely the development and regulatory status of new and novel therapies as well as product safety, supply, and access. It also publishes recommendations regarding treatment safety and supply.

TREATMENT GUIDELINES

Ghana Hemophila Society seeks to give the world’s community of people with bleeding disorders the most recent and scientifically sound standards of care.

GUIDELINES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF HEMOPHILIA

In August 2020, a third edition of the Guidelines for the Management of Hemophilia, produced by an international panel of knowledgeable healthcare experts and people living with hemophilia, was released. The publication’s goal is to establish a global standard of care and work to ensure that all healthcare professionals and individuals with hemophilia have access to the most recent and up-to-date treatment recommendations. This will ultimately lead to the best possible health outcomes for those who have hemophilia, minimize harm, and reduce regional variations in clinical care.
The Treatment Recommendations Resource Hub contains both the published guidelines and the literature.
